Shawn Mathis serves as Associate Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Southwestern University, where he provides leadership for the university’s accounting and financial reporting functions. A Certified Public Accountant, Shawn brings more than twenty years of experience in budgeting, auditing, financial management, and nonprofit governance. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business, with an emphasis in Accounting, from Hendrix College. He brings this expertise to the Community Montessori School Board, helping support strong financial stewardship and the school’s long-term sustainability.

Shawn also has a personal connection to Montessori education: his three sons, now grown and flown, attended Montessori preschool in Arkansas. He and his wife now live in Georgetown, along with their two dogs Bradley and Brody. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors and most days you will see them walking their dogs around downtown Georgetown.
